Thesis Project : Renaissance du Mellah d'Essaouira

ECO- RESORT “THE SAIL”

The insertion’s site main feature is the topography, which offers the highest point in the area , hence allowing for a general top-down view on the whole city of Essaouira and the Atlantic Facade, however the site is also the windiest part of the region , thus pushing for two main features in the design , the first one being the protection of the building through the use of wind deflectors , and the second design implementation was the division of the program on multipe buldings to make the most out of the surrounding scenery so as to blurr the line between the project and its environement.
